Fall, my favorite time of the year, is here! In many parts of the country, temperatures have started dropping, and the leaves are changing. Unfortunately, here in Florida, we just have pumpkin spice lattes, which officially kicks off the Fall season for me! It is time to break out those fall decorations and transform your Camden apartment. Not sure where to start? Let me help you with some simple tips to get your apartment Fall ready!

Warm Blankets and Bedding

Nothing is better than opening your windows and letting the crisp cool air breeze into your apartment. Cozying up under a warm, soft blanket is even better. Make sure you have plenty of warm blankets around your apartment for you and your guests. I like to take my blanket out to my balcony to snuggle up with a great book and a hot beverage. It would be best if you also switched out your lighter bedding for a thicker duvet for those chilly nights.

Clean, Swap, and Clean Some More

Fall is the perfect time to do a nice deep cleaning of your apartment. Get all those nooks and crannies dusted, swept, mopped and sparkly clean before the busy holiday season. You could also clean out your closet. Purge the clothing items you don't need, want, or wear any longer. Cool weather clothing like coats, hats and sweaters can be donated to those who could use it! While you are making room in that closet, make sure to swap out those summer clothes for your fall/winter wardrobe. Hello snuggly sweaters, goodbye tank tops and bathing suits.

Fall Scents are in the Air

Pumpkin, apple, cinnamon, oh my! So many wonderful fall scents that can make your home smell just like Fall. Bring out the oil diffuser in your favorite scent. Another easy way to create the ambiance of fall at a cheap cost is to make your own stovetop potpourri. All you need is a few items that you probably already have in your kitchen pantry and your refrigerator. In no time, your apartment will smell glorious!

Reprogram Your Thermostat and Check Your Heat

If you have a programmable thermostat, adjust it to the changing temperatures outside. Also, early Fall is a perfect time to ensure your heat is working. If not, you can put in a service request to have our amazing maintenance team check it out. When you turn on the heat for the first time, it may smell like something is burning. This is normal and should go away quickly. Any dust that has accumulated over the months is just burning off. If this smell persists, please put in a service request to be on the safe side.

Decorate, Decorate, Decorate

Decorating is my favorite thing about Fall! I love deep reds and vibrant orange colors – especially since I don’t get to see them living in Florida! To get some Fall in my life, I make sure my apartment home is filled with pumpkins and fall leaves. You can also add flowers such as sunflowers and mums from your favorite farmer’s market. There is one every Saturday morning down the street in Downtown St. Pete from Camden Pier District and Camden Central.

As you know, once fall is here, then the holidays start coming fast! Now that you have your apartment Fall-ready, you should start thinking about hosting for the holidays. We’ve got you covered with some great tips on four simple tips first-time hosts really need this holiday season.

Happy Fall, y’all!
